LATF convened an extraordinary Bureau Meeting of the 9th Governing Council at Laico Regency Hotel, Nairobi on 29th and 30th September 2010. In attendance were Hon. Serapio Rukundo MP, Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities of the Republic of Uganda, the Rapporteur of the Governing Council, Dr. Ladislaus Komba (PS), the Representative of the President of the Governing Council from the United Republic of Tanzania, and Mr. Donatien NZALA (DG), Congo (Brazzaville), the Representative of the Vice President of the Governing Council as well as the experts of the implementing Committee of the Governing Council. Hon. Josephat Nanok, (MP), Assistant Minister, Representative of the Minister for Forestry and Wildlife of the host country, Kenya, attended the opening ceremony of the Ministerial session where he gave welcoming remarks.

The meeting reviewed and adopted the progress reports for the period 2009/2010 and approved work plans and budgets of the Lusaka Agreement Task Force (LATF) for financial years 2010/2011 and 2011/2012.   The Parties renewed their commitment to enhancing their support to the Agreement and its organs as they appreciated the achievements made thus far. They encouraged the Lusaka Agreement Task Force and Parties’ experts to continue working closely with the same zeal as the Agreement is becoming more relevant today for all African states than it was fifteen years ago.
