The Lusaka Agreement Task Force (LATF) which is the Secretariat of the Lusaka Agreement has the honour to announce that the 11th Governing Council Meeting of the Parties to the Lusaka Agreement will be held from 1st to 3rd May 2015 in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. The meeting will be held after the International Conference on Illegal Trade and Exploitation of Africa’s Wild Flora and Fauna which will be held from 27th to 30th April 2015 at the same city.

In accordance with rules 5, 18 and 19 of the Rules of Procedure for meetings of the Lusaka Agreement Governing Council, the meeting is open to Parties, all other African States and any other interested state outside Africa, the United Nations and its specialized agencies. The meeting is also open to any body or agency qualified in the fields relating to law enforcement in wild fauna and flora, which has informed LATF of its wish to be represented as an observer.

The ministerial session of the Governing Council Meeting shall be preceded by an Experts Meeting and a Special Session of the Bureau of the Governing Council that will deliberate on substantive matters on the implementation of the Lusaka Agreement. The meeting’s documentation will be made available on LATF’s website www.lusakaagreement.org as soon as practicable. The venue and other logistics for the meeting are being arranged in collaboration with the Government of Congo alongside preparations for the International conference and will be communicated in due course.
