Pursuant to Rule 13 of the Rules of Procedure for meetings of the Lusaka Agreement Governing Council, Lusaka Agreement Task Force (LATF) wishes to announce that the 12th ordinary session of the Governing Council of the Parties to the Lusaka Agreement that was scheduled to be held in Lusaka, Zambia in May 2018 will now be held in Nairobi Kenya from 28th to 30th May 2018.

In accordance with Rule 5, 18 and 19 of the Rules of Procedure for meetings of the Lusaka Agreement Governing Council, the meeting is open to all Parties and observers which include Signatory States, other African States, United Nations and its specialized agencies, and any State not party to the Agreement. The meeting is also open to any body or agency qualified in the fields relating to law enforcement in wild fauna and flora, which has informed LATF of its wish to be represented as an observer.

The ministerial session of the Governing Council Meeting scheduled on 30th May 2018 shall be preceded by a two-day Meeting of Experts of the Lusaka Agreement Governing Council to discuss and deliberate on the consultancy report on re-engineering of the Lusaka Agreement institutional structures and LATF Progress reports on the implementation of the Lusaka Agreement. The meeting’s documentation including an observers’ enrolment form will be made available on LATF website www.lusakaagreement.org  as soon as practicable. The venue and other logistics for the meeting will be communicated as soon as consultations with officials of the Bureau of Governing Council are concluded in due course.
