On 15th June 2010, members of a Joint Operation Team involving the Lusaka Agreement Task Force and Zambia Wildlife Authority raided business premises at the Downtown Shopping Complex in the central business district of Lusaka. The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects who were found in possession of a leopard skin. The two were successfully prosecuted and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment each on 18th July 2010. This operation clearly demonstrates that illegal trade in wild cat products continues to be a major challenge.
